Picks up vibration noise very well. A must have for tracking down bearing noise. Not the highest quality but the price is fair and as long as you don't pile a bunch of wrenches or sockets on top of this tool it should last for years.

I was really surprised how loud this amplifies noise. If anything you have to be a little careful that the sound isn't too loud.

Its a decent gadget, its very sensitive very loud withe the slightest movement, a lot of noise comes out of it, its hard to detect where its coming from, the ear pieces is very tight it hurts your ears , maybe there is a way to loosen them but i am not sure, i only use it once to check my alternator i still was not positive about the alternator until i disassembled it and saw the poly wiggling when spun by hand
