8-Years ago, my wife brought home a 'like-new' version of this coat from a friend of hers, said her husband couldn't wear 'supplier' labeled coats at work, and since he was my size, maybe I would want it. It was this very-same Dickies coat, but had a big embroidered private company's logo on the front (hence, why he couldn't wear it at work). I could tell it was a top-end coat just by the heft and material, so I offered to pay him, he said simply 'take it, and enjoy, if you like it - I've already bought me another one'. Well, I did. I wore it cutting wood, working outside, going shopping, name it - until my wife said it looked like something the dog drug in. I told her it was just broke in good, but she didn't see it that way. I went looking for the same jacket again, and found it at a local big box tractor store nearby. They had changed the lining style, and I worried that the new one wouldn't be as wind-insulating and warm as the first one. They guy walking around in the store told me 'if you loved the one they used to make, you'll really like this one, it's warmer'. I bought it on what he said, and tried it out. He was right, the new black insulating liner was warmer than the older 'blanket-type' insulation they used to put in them. I mean, I'll throw this over a T-shirt and long-sleeve over-shirt, and go out and work outside for a couple of hours, no big deal. If this jacket covers that body part, you aren't going to get cold! Good set of thinsulate gloves, and you are good for an all-day-outsider in snow, 20-deg-F temps, name it. I have to admit, I took mine outside when I first got it, sprayed a whole can of 'Scotchguard' on it to waterproof it further. That way, when it's 35 outside, drizzling rain all day, this thing beads up water like a nylon windbreaker, too. Sure beats wearing a wool shirt under it, that's for sure! This is, by far, the best coat/jacket made. Period. I highly recommend this for kids going to school (why, it's almost kid-indestructable, and that's saying a lot), it's nice looking, and IT IS WARM! I already know what my next jacket will be - why change a sure thing?
