The Amphenol T Series 1/4" SwitchPlug features a built-in sliding switch which allows you to avoid those annoying hums, pops, and thumps when plugging in or unplugging your guitar.

Amphenol's patented SwitchPlug employs a unique 360 degree precision sliding helical spring contact design to quietly and accurately switch the signal circuit to ground during instrument changes under load, thereby avoiding annoying buzzing, thumps, pops and squeals. The sliding ring contact self-cleans every time the plug is connected preventing excessive build-up of oxidization and contamination. Activation is directly off the jack's front face ensuring a positive reference point, and as it works instantaneously on the main circuits there is no need for the use of magnets or other elaborate switching mechanisms.
Each of Amphenol's 1/4" phone connectors features a rugged diecast shell, machined contacts, patented "Jaws" cable clamp, and is engineered to be easy to assemble.
