I see a lot of comments complaining that people have trouble getting their Ethernet network devices to work with this splitter. THIS DEVICE IS NOT DESIGNED FOR ETHERNET. if you want to split Ethernet, you need an Ethernet switch. Traditionally, telephone lines use four conductor RJ-11 wire with smaller connectors. Many new houses standardize the wiring for both telephone and network on the eight conductor RJ-45 wire. My house is wired with RJ-45 wires going to the regular old analog POTS telephone wall jacks. I needed an RJ-45 splitter to split the signal to two plain old analog telephone jacks. This device worked perfectly for that purpose.

The item I received was not an RJ45, 8-conductor connector, as it is described and show. It was more an RJ11, 4 conductor connector.
