Unlike subwoofers, the BST-1 Bass Shaker will not overload your listening area with offensive SPL levels, and the perceived loudness improves listening at lower sound volumes. With 2 BST-1 Bass Shakers and an APA150 Amplifier this package is perfect for adding powerful vibrations to a couch, 2 large chairs, or even a small raised platform.Dayton Audio BST-1 Pro Bass ShakerThe engineers at Dayton Audio designed the BST-1 Bass Shaker to reproduce accurate, tactile sensations from your music and movie sound tracks. When a BST-1 Bass Shaker is installed on a resonant surface, it increases the portion of tactile sound as being \"felt\" beyond what is normally produced by subwoofers and ordinary speakers. Conventional subwoofers are traditionally considered optimized when you can feel rather than hear the bass. By using a BST-1 Bass Shaker in your system, this goal becomes easier to achieve -- enabling the subwoofer to perform at a more natural sound level.A specially formulated nylon/fiber spider and the selection of quality hardware components allow the BST-1\'s internal motor structure to not only outperform the competition but increase the product lifespan. Simply put, with a Dayton Audio BST-1 Bass Shaker you can count on years and years\' worth of amazing blasts, shakes, rolls, rattles, rumbles, thumps, bangs, and bumps!Dayton Audio APA150 AmplifierThe APA150 amplifier is capable of up to 2 x 75 watts @ 4 ohms and 150 watts bridged mono @ 8 ohm. Full-range line-level outputs allow for daisy chaining this amplifier to your subwoofer amplifier. An adjustable 50-150 Hz low pass crossover allows easy integration of the transducers into your existing system. Also included are auto-on/off, silent turn-off with no audible transient, gold plated RCA inputs/outputs, and 5-way binding posts.Product Details BrandDayton Audio Part Number300-9018 UPC848864061061 Weight20.5 Product Specifications ApplicationLow Frequency Bass Shaker Power Handling (RMS)50 Watts Impedance4Ω 7750299 848864061061 24.6000lbs 0.00 0.00 0.00

First and foremost... understand that the sound emanates from the surface on which the exciter is mounted. per the old adage... horses for courses... your satisfaction will depend on a number of things. I have my exciters mounted on the exterior wall of a shower enclosure. I didn't want to blast podcasts in the morning in the bathroom, and wanted speakers in the shower. This is the perfect solution.

Works well. Bit of soldering needed to attach wires and audio plug, but that was easy.

I bought 7 of these for a complete surround sound system. Yes, i got the idea from Tech Ingredients on YouTube! I was initially not even remotely happy with them. I tried using them with the 24 x 24 foam panels you can get from the big box stores. The sound was really hollow. Even paired with a good quality subwoofer, there were a lot of frequencies missing. However, i realized two things - first, it was partly my fault for how i was mounting them. And second, they work way better with the acoustic ceiling tiles. In the picture, you can see the front five speakers - mains, center channel, and the height speakers for atmos. I also have another pair of them for the rear surround, mounted on the ceiling above the couch that viewers will be using. Everything sounds amazing, given the price. I love the way they look, and although the sound is not quite perfect, it's plenty good for my setup as a second media room.I bought these things on sale, paying $20 something for each. The ceiling tiles are $20 for a set of three. I made some mounts out of plywood with a little accent strip of scrap purpleheart. The tiles are hanging on some cheap black monofilament. So the entire 7 speaker setup was only about $200 dollars. Maybe $250 if you include the speaker wire and the paint i used. This was a very satisfying project, and was absurdly easy. The speakers sound good, and really fill the room with nondirectional sound. The frequency response is not perfect, but there are lots of things you can do to improve that - specifically by adding additional panels of different sizes and shapes down the road.If you want a weekend project to make some great conversation starting speakers that sound pretty great, buy these right away. I don't think you will regret it.

I bought two of these exciters after doing some research on YouTube about DML panels. I put each of them on a 2' x 2' x 1 panel of foam board for my DML panels and also ran a sub, all powered by a Fosi Audio amp. The sound is pretty amazing.
