I needed a calibrated measurement microphone to use with Sonarwork's ReferenceID room correction software. I have two. 8 studio monitors about a foot from the wall, and the bass responsive is a bit heavy given the small room they're in. Works like a charm. The price can't be beat. Comes with a nice padded carry case.

I use this mic with RME FF400 to make measurements with Audiolense. It comes with a calibration file that is a real advantage for such a price range. The sensitivity is good and works well with phantom power as intended. Got good measurements that translated to great sounding filters. for 70$ you will be hard pressed to find a measurement mic with a calibration file. This is a great VFM.

Using room EQ this tool is very easy to setup and use, you will need a SPL meter to calibrate it, and then a jumper wire to connect your audio interface line out and line in to calibrate the sound card, from there you will need 3 or so measurements with this mic and you will get a proper file to load into you audio interface software.

Used it with IK Multimedia ARC, worked perfectly. Super easy to download calibration file from official website. This is an absolutely game changer for home studio with limited budget on room treatment. ( Saying in so, you have to have a software working together of course)Something worth knowing is that mic mount came with it only work with the desktop stand came along in the box. But it was an easy hack for me to put a cloth on my 58's mount (adding a layer of thickness) to clip in firmly for my mic stand. One of the best value for money mic.

The floor noise is so high that it can't be used with sonarworks. It took me about 2 months to test this mic because i was very sick from covid, once i felt good, i tried to measure my studio and found a faulty mic. I contacted the people from Dayton and they confirmed it could be faulty, altought i found many opinions on the internet saying this mic's floor noise is too high, almost useless.

I really like the idea of Dayton doing individual frequency response with correction file download. And at this price point I didn't expect ultra quiet, but the two I received had maybe 30dB S/N which is really bad. And it wasn't just hiss, but also intermittent pops. I have ten different preamps that use five different phantom power supplies and have lost count of how many mic cables I have (not to mention a pile of ultra quiet studio condensers), so no, its not any of those things that caused the problems. I don't know if Dayton just had a bad batch or what? These would be a nice deal if you can get a good one.

I purchased this to try the automatic room levelling feature of the driverack pa2, and let me tell you, it gets my system to sound just as good as my sennheiser headphones. It's honestly weird and creepy just how much better this mic helped my system sound.
