MUCH louder than i expected, i was worried the volume wouldn't be there, but it's not an issue at all. What i don't get is all the chat about the warm sound of a tube amp. I seiously couldnt tell if this was a tube amp or not if i was blindfolded. The tubes may just be for show for all i know. It does look nice, but i definitely wish it had a remote. Not sure any tube amps in this price range come with one.

I just received my fathers Sansui 1500's. He had been pushing it with a mid range digital amp. I thought my fond memories of these classics were over romanticized. THEN I BOUGHT THIS AMP! Holy shirt, what a difference! From the first time I raised the volume, they were singing like a songbird in spring. Also. I never had to bring the volume up past 2. This amp has tons of power to spare. The warm amber glow from the VU meters, coupled with the same color glow on the tubes, is extremely pleasing. I have several tube amps. And these really stood out. I can't wait to hear these when they're broken in. Couldn't be happier.!

This little amplifier exceeded my expectations, by far. I'm not an audiophile by any stretch of the imagination, but this is the best dang amplifier I ever bought! Right out of the box I hooked it up to my low cost CD player, old Pioneer bookshelf speakers, and WOW, I couldn't believe the clarity, depth and warmth of this little guy. I can't wait to try some nice speakers. I was curious about new tube hybrid amplifiers since everyone said that tube amplifiers give a warmth to the music, and boy was that right. I think the design of using tubes for the pre-amp section, and then running the output through solid state amp is a perfect setup. Like I said, I'm no audiophile, but I don't think you can beat this for the performance at this price.

My problem is that the VU meters don't work. The amp is for my daughter, and she loves the fidelity. She is from a more digital age and doesn't appreciate what the VU meters can do for setup and troubleshooting. She loves the amp so much, I almost don't want to send it back for repair because she'll miss it terribly. It is quite the conundrum.

Really a great little amp for the right speakers. Don't cheep out the speakers should cost more than the amp. I bought the Kalisch 600s the last model if you can find them you will same several hundred dollars.

This is a great little amp in every way except the most important--power. It has bluetooth. It as Phono input. It has SW output. Plenty of connection options. It looks pretty good. Sound it good too. But beware--the power rating is at 4ohm, not 8ohm. That means the 50 watt rating is closer to 25 watts with standard 8ohm speakers. You better have efficient speakers too because you won't be able to drive them very hard if they are 86 db sensitivity or less. I am running B7W 707 s2 bookshelf speakers which are about 6 ohm and 86 db and I have to regularly max the volume on the amp to reach 82 db spl sound in a small room. That a bit lower than most like to listen to music at. Also, the input light is ridiculously bright and ruins the aesthetic of the amp in low light. I will probably tint the lens somehow.

This unit has an appealing retro look and it sounds great. We're using it to drive some Thiel speakers and the sound is spacious and pleasant. Nice value for the money.
