I used the RF 10C to replace the stock speaker in an older Peavy Backstage Plus. That's an older, American made solid state practice amp- built like a tank. The older speaker sounded brittle, lacking any bottom end. This speaker added great tonal range. It sounds very, very good. Sweet articulate tone. Where the stock speaker would breakup and become noisy at higher volume, this speaker just flat rocks. It's loud, the 34;I can feel the air moving34; type loud! I know there are guitar snobs who would doubt me, but I know tone. This speaker achieves! Construction appears top quality. It's apparent Eminence takes some pride in their product. I'm exceedingly happy. I bought a second RF 10C for my spare practice amp as well. No hesitation.

When i first installed the speaker I said to myself 34;not so bad... i'm kiinda diggin' this thing and it's only Gonna get better once it breaks in34; I was wrong. The tone went to the dark side one day while I'm in the middle of playing. The amp just started sounding lifeless-No more top end sparkle. It sounded like there's a blanket over this thing and certain notes just sound God awful. Like it's trying to produce the note but it's not capable. So far I've been disappointed with every Eminence speaker I've tried. Long story short, got a Scumback H75 to replace it and i'll never use anything else as long as they're in busniess.

Replace the stock 1034; in my Randall Diavlo Cab. Huge difference in quality from the original. Not even broken in yet and immediately more smoothness, crispness and tone.

I purchased 2 of these in the 1034; size to switch out the Oxford speakers in my Fender Twin Vibrolux. These made that amp a fire breathing dragon! Much lower and tighter lows with a nice mid-range and high-end. They sounded really good out of the box but the high ,highs and high mids have been mellowing a touch the more I play them. These work REALLY well with pedals. Without a preamp or pedals it allows you to crank the amp to it's sweet spot without knocking all the pictures off the wall. These hit the nail on the head for what I needed.

Had a little 1034; Marshall cab from a micro stack that I wanted to use as a quick grab and go cab for my 100 watt Quilter head when I need it. First I swapped the stock speaker for a Celestion TF1018 which died after 1 gig. Stuck this in as the next replacement and it's performing great and sounds far better than either of the previous two speakers. Really rich sound that's got just enough treble and a nice punch to the bass.

This is a great little speaker. I put it in a Vox enclosure and it sounds like a 12 when I play my guitar through it using a Quilter 101 amp.

I bought this speaker to replace the stock Blue Marvel in my Peavey Bandit 112. The Peavey Bandit came stock unusable and sounded too bright to me. I play single coil and humbucker equipped guitars so i needed those warm low mids, and this speaker has those warm mids that i have been looking for. The upper mid and treble presence that made the Blue Marvel unusable is now gone. Those upper mids and treble frequencies are smoothed out, but still present. The low end on the Tonker is perfect. I can use both channels on my amp without needing to turn the bass all the way up to have a full sound. With the Tonker you get awesome cleans, and when you crank up the dirt you will find yourself in a Bluesy, Southern Rock heaven that even Duane Allman would appreciate. When it comes to Tone, Eminence has a product for you. I will never use another speaker company again.

I can't start with this speaker. It's better to talk about my amp. I have a Fender Frontman 25R (Series 2). I love my amp ... and ... I hate it. I know 34;tubes are what you need to get classic tone34;, but I just can't buy into that. There are so many factors that go into making tone that tubes can't be the 'be all get all' for guitar tone. I love my 25R because it's solid state reliable, small, and still has power for the small room I play in. I hate it because the tone it makes is not versatile. I can get a good clean jazz tone, but the rich mids of classic are just not there no matter what pedal I use. This highs are overbearingly bright. The mids are weak, and there seems to be little to no bass response. I never use the drive channel because I like my ears the way they are, and blood belongs inside one's body. I have looked for, price checked, done the accounting a million times, but it's just not practical to get a bigger amp. Honestly, even if I could afford it, I have no room to fit a bigger amp. My 25R is the perfect size and power. I started with what I wanted. Being realistic, meaning guidelines rather than tone-copies, I want tone that says David Gilmore, Eric Clapton, Carlos Santana, Don Felder, Stanley Jordan ... you know ... like a real guitar. So, I started doing my homework about getting good tone from a small, solid state amp. The internet verdict said Ragin Cajun. I went to Eminence's website and checked all the sound samples the speakers they offer. RC didn't speak to me. I want thick British Blues mids. I want tamed highs that shine without the 34;Twilight Sparkle34;. I want jazzy clean, classic mids, and bass that knows it's place. Can you get Fender Clean and Messa Boogie/ Marshall Mids at the same time, in the same amp? So, I rolled the dice. Brit Blues all the way for me. Changing the speaker has made a HUGE difference. I wasn't expecting miracles, but I got one. My 25R woke up and said, 34;spec't me be-ach34;. The clean highs are tight without the sparkle. The mids are so thick I smell peanut butter when I play. I was even brave enough to turn on that crappy drive channel. Well ... not so crappy now. I could go on and on about how happy I am with this upgrade. And yes, I broke the speaker in a bit before I rand it through some paces. If you wanted a 12 page review, I could do that. There's just so much to explore with tone like this. Do your homework. Check the specs on your amp. Change your speaker. Your wallet will be glad you did. I'd love to chat more about this, but I have noise to make ... so ....
