NTE Solder Wick is made from fine copper wire woven together with a no-clean flux formula added to it to increase absorption. Removes up to four times more solder than conventional wick, and extracts solder much faster than wicks based on Type-R fluxes. Residue left behind is halide free and non-conductive, so it does not have to be cleaned off the board. 100% copper wick has fine braid design to promote strong capillary action to pull in excess solder.

I forgot how well copper transmits heat. Had to move my fingers farther away from where I was removing solder.I haven't done electronic work in years so it was awesome that it picked up the solder quickly. When I attempted to do the replacement transistor work, I had to give up and cleanup again. I adore seeing very clean PCB attachment areas.

I've fought with cheap solder wick enough to know when I've fond the good stuff. Folks, this here is the good stuff.Make sure your iron is clean and is running hot enough (not too hot!), let the wick do the rest. You may need to flatten out the wick if it's folded together, but otherwise it is ready for action straight away. Flux can help for stubborn spots, but I've not found it necessary for any removal using this wick so far.
