The product works as advertised. Sound quality is quite good for being such a small unit. Will see how well it does long term.

In this day and age, when very few things meet my expectations, it is nice to run across something that exceeds my expectations! My wife and I both have hearing loss, so we have been gradually turning up the television sound level, but were still often not able to hear clearly. I have considered some more expensive and complicated alternatives, but was convinced they would solve our problem. After reading the reviews of the TV-SB Wireless TV Listening Device I thought for the price it was worth the try. It has made watching television enjoyable again--voices are clear and understandable even with background music--the sound quality is excellent! Instructions for connecting the TV-SB were clear and understandable--I had it connected about 20 minutes (the battery must initially be charged for 6 hours). The manufacturer provided all of the cables I needed. Finally, the operation of the equipment could not be simpler! I do recommend getting the optional DC power supply for the speaker unit. It is designed to be recharged on the base unit, but this way I leave the speaker unit on the table where we use it everyday and it is always fully charged. I am sitting here as I write listening to my television and understanding every word, even without trying to read their lips! I hope this will be a blessing to you also!

Ordered this for my 80 YO Dad. He moved in with me about 4 years ago and has been driving me CRAZY with the TV volume blasting! I saw this product and thought it was worth a try. We have Comcast and I hooked the wires up to the back of the cable box and it works great. He keeps the speaker on the nightstand next to his bed, which is about 8 feet from the base. He says he can understand what is being said on the TV better now. Dad says the only negative with this machine is the volume dial is very touchy, other than that he is very pleased, and so am I, as I no longer have to listen to the TV volume blasting. His TV is on 24 hours a day, and I knew the charge would not last long, and I didn't want to listen to the TV volume blasting while the speaker was charging, so I also ordered the OMNIHIL 9 volt plug for the speaker to avoid having to charge speaker on the base. Received about 4 months ago and it still works great. I recommend this product for those that have a hard time hearing the TV, and for the benefit of those around them. It's a little pricey but worth it. Wish I had known about this product 4 years ago.

Just got mine yesterday. I charged it during the afternoon and used it last night. What a difference it made. I placed the transmitter behind the TV and the speakers on top of the headboard of my bed and I could hear the TV clearly without annoying everyoe nearby. I'm considering buying another for the living room. I should have bought the $139 model that comes with a second power cord for the speaker.

I am able to mute the TV and listen to it in another room without blasting the sound all over the house for everyone else.
