looked good online to hook up a flatscreen tv with my laptop for a small media center. from another company, bought a 15' HDMI cable from the tv to the wall plate, then a 3' from the plate to the laptop. finally, after about a month, we were able to hook up the system. then, as the system didn't work, took it all apart (yes, I know I should have tested the components first) to find that this wallplate pigtail wasn't functioning. for as cheap as it was, will not bother trying to return it, but will find another product from a different manufacturer.

Plate works well as long as you've got room for the pigtail in your wall. Good quality.

I found the pigtail makes it nice to connect to the thick HDMI cables used for the long run inside the wall. Without the pigtail, making the turn inside the wall is much more difficult. The only only problem is that the cover plate screws are not the standard 6x32 screws used for electrical plates and are chrome rather then white. However, I used my trusty 6x32 tap on the plastic holes, then used standard screws to make a nicer looking installation. :-)

I use this HDMI outlet for a projector hung from the ceiling. It is good quality, works and looks great.
