This brace is very helpful to my mom with a shoulder injury and works well enough she was able to move lawn furniture with less pain than before. The only complaints are the odor from the material is strong and the material isn't breathable and caused sweating

Not to tight, not to loose. just the right of support right where you need it. I'm going to buy a second set.

I am female with approximately 15 inches across the shoulder. I ordered a medium because the sizing information is useless - where do I measure? I have upper arm and upper back/rotator cuff weakness and pain - no tears that I know of. In the past, I could not wear a regular winter coat because it was too heavy. Anyway, when I put it on, it seemed flimsy and did not seem to provide support because I expected that a tighter fit was necessary. However, after I took it off, I felt the difference and pain returned. It also provided mild warmth. The advantage is that motion is not restricted - just supported; doctors often do NOT recommend braces because it weakens your muscles.

I am not sure if it is the warmth or the slight compression but it really does help. I had to adjust it a bit as someone else suggested. I cut down the middle of the back and took it in about an inch. Really very easy even if you don't sew much. I should have gone back and zig-zag stitched the seam but I wasn't sure if I took it in enough and wanted it to be easy to fix.
