I got this fire pit and the box was banged up. The top insert and another piece was a little bent, but otherwise, everything else was in great shape. It seems like the packaging issue others have spoken about has been much improved. All parts were received except for a few nuts for screws to screen down the fire ring square insert. There was a Phillips screwdriver and wrench included which was handy, but if you have metric wrench sets, it would be worthwhile digging them out for this task. I (female) put this together and like others have said it is a pain. It took me a couple of hours and in some cases I had to turn the table upright, then upside down, then upright, to align pieces and insert bolts. Two people for assembly would make the job go 10x faster. There is definitely something to be said about the beauty of no assembly required. The instruction booklet was pretty good but I got tripped up by putting the inside tray that holds the tank on upside down. And, by not attaching the door to the door strip BEFORE trying to attach the doors to the frame. Otherwise, the instructions were pretty good. I hooked the fire ring up to a a 20lb tank and the pit fired right up, no problems. It was very windy here in Colorado today and I was surprised it stayed lit despite the heavy wind. It was cold, in the low 40's, so along with strong winds, it was hard to tell about the heat, but I do believe the heat will be adequate for a cool summer night, enough to take the chilly edge off, which is why I purchased this unit. The glass included with the unit is nice, but not nearly as nice as the American Fireglass Beads I purchased separately. I purchased 10 lbs and have another 10 lbs coming. I want to get a fire and ice effect so I selected the glacier ice glass beads. This glass goes well with the included icy aqua glass. I put the aqua glass on the bottom layer and the nicer glacier ice glass on top. My plan is to shop for a granite remnant table top to put on top to make the unit custom, similar to a granite unit I had my eye on that was priced over $2,000. If I can pick up a remnant table top for a few hundred dollars. the total cost will be well below the pricier unit, but probably just as nice. I would definitely recommend this unit...it's a great price value purchase....a lot of fire pit for the money.

Just like everyone said. Not nearly enough glass. Figure it into the cost and just buy what you want now. It does not put of enough heat to keep you warm if it's cool outside. However it looks great and if you just want the fire as a background piece, it is great. I wound certainty purchase again.

This Fire Pit was just as described and works beautifully. I was worried when it came because the box was all ripped up, but no parts were damaged.

Really like this fireplace. Be sure to give yourself adequate room for assembly. It will take about 2 hours or so. It really looks good on our patio!

Super-heavy package, but arrived in great condition. Easy to assemble, missing only one part (a rubber foot cover, which the manufacturer promised to replace but never did). You may want more glass. I did. But these things aside, it's a beautiful addition to our back porch, and I look forward to getting it back outside as it begins to warm up and the ground begins to thaw.

Put together pretty easily....if you're not terribly adept at assembling things, I'd get someone that's handy as it could be a little confusing. There were some washers that were missing from the parts list, but it wasn't a part we didn't have something close to at the house that worked in its place. The doors are a little tricky, but if you're not in a hurry it's not a big deal to get them to sit just right. The propane system took a few times to ignite, but it seems to be working just fine too. We've not had a chance to use it much, but it does deserve a good rating so far. The amount of rock they send is (as everyone has said) is a joke. We ordered a 10lb bag of 3/4 clear glass, and I would consider it (along with the included glass) to be just enough to cover. One last note...this is not a small unit. It's right at the top end for pairing with standard height patio furniture. That being said, it's perfect to put your plate on!

Great fire pit. This piece may require a couple hours of assembly time (max), but it's so worth it. This piece is super sturdy (make sure you tighten everything up). The height makes it safer should you have small childern. It also puts off good heat on high and can be adjusted down if you just want to enjoy the light without all the heat. I read reviews where there were concerns over chipped paint when removed from the box. I had zero concerns when I received my fire pit. I have recommended this fire pit to all my friends.
