There were two brand names used for kuitchenware in my family when I was growing up Corelle and Pyrex.I try to stay away from plastic containers as much as I can and if I buy glass I always by Pyrex. Pyrex is safe to heat or freeze and it's good quality glassware.I have this bowl but I didn't get it by itself it came in a four piece set (counting lids) with a larger matching bowl. My larger one just got broken a couple of weeks ago and I haven't been able to find one just like it yet. This one is a great size for left over sides. It's very convenient, straight from the fridge to the microwave just loosen the lid.I have never been disappointed with a Pyrex product unless you count when they break. Glass breaks tthere's no getting around that but I've never had a Pyrex product break the 1st time it's dropped as glass goes they're pretty rugged.

I had two of these bowls, not enough. I order an additional four bowls and lids. The use for them is endless.

We needed covers for our 3-cup bowls and did not know where to find them. We found them at the Corningware internet site. The covers are great and they arrived sooner than expected.
