Bought the first one and it lasted 5 years in our water garden. For something that runs continually for that long I feel like we got our money's worth. This unit ran dry numerous times and in a tough environment. Never happy to know you have to replace something but until it quit it never gave a moments trouble. Bought a slightly higher volume pump on this purchase. The old and new one are both super quiet so it's hard to know when they are running except for the fact the water is flowing! Only reason for four stars is they have gone up in cost so much in 5 years but most things have!

This is my second Water Master Clear Pump. The first one lasted 6+ years running 24/7 year round in all types of weather and temperature extremes in my outdoor waterfall feature. It gave flawless service without cleaning or any other maintenence. In addition, the water being serviced contained copper sulphate for algae control,(highly corrosive), which did not affect the function of the pump. I would recommend this "workhorse" to anyone for long term heavy duty action.
