Assembly was a breeze--wheels and foot ring are already put together. Needs NO tools for assembly. I just had to push the pneumatic gas lift (already attached to the seat) into place. Ready in a matter of minutes. I have a small build and tend to disappear in most of the big office chairs--they were ruining my back. This stool is perfect for maintaining a good posture without a big backrest. The powder coated backrest offers minimal support and allows me to find a natural position for my back instead of forcing me into a ready-made one.Posting this review as I took a chance on this product, which had hardly any reviews. I preferred this stool for its versatility--it's armless and fits anywhere. Seat height ranges from 19-25 inches: great as an office task/drafting stool, or even as a bar stool in the kitchen. Light and functional but sturdy enough for my weight. I alternate between standing, this stool and a cushy chair to prevent stiffness in my back--I spend a lot of time at my desk. Oh, and it's quite stable on a bare wood floor without a chair mat. Shipping was super fast and item arrived well packaged. Perfect for my needs.

Ordered two of the same stool. They shipped from two different locations, one was made in 2011 in Taiwan the other in 2012 in China. They both had the same model number, but the backs were different heights, the seats were different thicknesses, the base was all chrome and smaller diameter on the Chinese one and gray with a chrome ring on the one from Taiwan. No way did they match. The first company rep started by saying I would have to pay to return the non-matching stool. I objected and he changed his decision. The seat on the Chinese stool did not fit properly on the base, so another call and a much nicer person helped me, but the replacement also had a flaw in the paint job on the back so another back also had to be sent. Finally I have two complete, matching stools. I'll have to watch my billing for a while, but if it all works out with the credits as I was told, I would say the customer service was great with the second representative(poor with the first). Quality of the Chinese chairs is suspect when it takes so many to get two good ones, but I am satisfied with the two completed ones.
