I've used the Rumford Trowelator for more than 10 yrs. I loaned mine to my daughter-in-law who after using it said she absolutely had to have one. This was her present. Its strong and well balanced. Provides 2 handy tools for the home gardener.

The best weeding tool I've ever used. Ergonomically designed, and the leverage from the unusual length makes it easy to use for hours without blisters or wrist strain. The cast aluminum is very strong---in my hands, a cheap trowel will usually break with less than an hour of use, but this tool lasts me for years. The best tool for delicately getting out roots of perennial weeds like dandelions intact. The only fault is minor: the cast aluminum is brittle, and if you try to prise roots out from the crevices between rocks you're likely to break off the point. However, even with a broken tip it's still almost as useful, and wear will quickly re-sharpen the tip.

My wife has had this tool for several years, and I find it to be very useful for getting dandelions and other weeds out of the yard and garden. We spend summers in Michigan and winters in southern California, so now we have one in each place.

I got to say this is better than any home depot, or lowes garden shovel I bought. It's very sturday and easy to use. I used it to dig just about anything from flowers, roses and sprinkler heads and never had it break on me like your typical garden shovel. I wish this product was available in your garden stores.
