I bought this wine rack with some trepidation based on the number of negative reviews, and was very pleasantly surprised. It arrived carefully packed, with all parts (even some extra hardware). No chips, cracks, dings or uneven stain. It took me 20 mins to unpack and assemble start to finish and all holes were drilled correctly. Once assembled, it seems sturdy enough, and it fits my pinot noir bottles, which some cheap wine racks don't. The furnishings in my home are higher-end and this is not the most substantial item, so I wouldn't put this out on display (bought it for wine storage in a basement closet), but it is attractive enough and I would say equivalent to Target or Ikea-type furnishings - considering the price, I was not expecting anything fancier. I plan on buying one or two more and will update if I have any problems with them.*UPDATE* Well, I guess I did luck out with the first one. The second one I ordered assembled just as easily, until it came time to simply slot in the trays that hold the bottles - one tray just wouldn't go in. I couldn't figure out why until I measured it against one of the other trays and realized that the front and back pieces had been misaligned when it was put together (the trays are sent fully assembled, so this was a mistake at the factory and not something I could correct). The wine rack comes with a form that you are instructed to fax back in the event you receive a missing or broken piece - I ended up calling them and quickly reached a real person who gave me an email address (replacement at winsomewood dot com) to send a pdf'd copy of the form instead, which was much easier. I received the replacement tray 15 days after emailing the replacement request, and it fits. One of the other trays was slightly scuffed at the front, but I did not complain about/seek a replacement for the scuffed tray since I am keeping this in a closet and not really concerned about its appearance, but if I was putting this out on display, I probably would have.
