I have 1/2 dozen or so wire strippers, crimpers in the toolbox, but none really did 90deg 1/4 spade connectors well. I figured I'd invest in this as an adder, and if it worked for that, great, if not, another crimper in the toolbox. I had a chance to use this for the first time when crimping yellow insulated terminals on a pigtail for an old Ford Blower switch/pigtail with 10 Gauge wire. The good: tool itself is sturdy, ratchets are fine enough, and grab very well to crimp anything you put in there. Box is good. Grip is good. The bad: the insulated terminal crimp die is not good. It makes/leaves a flat crimp, not a U shaped crimp. The flat crimp is no better then pair of pliers. The best crimp die for an insulated terminal is a deep U, where the terminal slit is bent into the U, as you'll see on Molex and other connectors. It works OK if you don't have anything else, but the U shaped crimp in a wirestripper tends to make a better crimp that folds the terminal into/over the conductors. Overall, the tool quality is great. Insulated terminal die leave room for improvement. Other bare terminal dies are good.

I bought these to help me with wiring harness for motorcycles and cars. They work great. I had to buy the additional spark plug piece but I wish there was more room inside the box for the additional dies.

I have several interchangeable sets that the dies are screwed in. This is my first quick change. Frame seems solid, easy to adjust but no do much that frequent adjustment is needed. Dies themselves have already held up to much abuse including being dropped from around 15 feet onto concrete. Not even a mark left behind. Usually am using the awg insulated die, and open barrel die as well. Only 1 die is awg (inulated) so am having to do the conversion (that I cannot seem to remember) for the rest. Case is good, make sure Astro us facing up when putting back or it can fight a little bit. Probably going to pick up a second set. Wish there were additional dies available, particularly with awg nomenclature.
