This works well for outside our front door of a retail business. The heavy base keeps it in one spot and doesn't get knocked over. Most importantly doesn't need sand or water in it so it's easy to clean.Just with the top was also metal since people like to put out their cigs on the top and it has burn marks on it now. But overall would definitely recommend

Having trouble putting the top on???I had a little trouble getting the plastic top on the metal base. It began to crack a tiny bit so I stopped and contacted customer service. I got a replacement top in only two days. It's cold where I live so I left the metal base outside (to contract) and heated the plastic top with a hairdryer (to expand and soften a bit) then I quickly put a towel over the plastic top to protect against the rubber mallet as I tapped it on. It went on effortlessly.The customer service was great!

Very nice high quality look. The color is bright and shiny. Much nicer than the plastic ones. Alittle heavy which is good for other reasons but easy to clean .

This item has no way of cleaning out the cigarette butts the bottom piece only has a very small opening where the neck gets inserted - the hole is maybe 3inch wide and you literally have to shake out all the cigarette butts through that tiny hole - doesn't even make sense!

Stupid design. You're supposed to hammer the top on. Cracked after a few strikes with a mallet. Never made any headway. Whoever designed this is an idiot.

I bought this because my friends smoke and my yard had butts everywhere I looked. I got tired of picking them up. I've had this for over six months now in rain and snowy areas with no issues. Still haven't had to empty it but maybe in anotherfd month or so. Seems simple enough to empty it out. This definitely looks better than an ash tray for a yard.
