Works well, cuts reasonably smooth holes (not fine woodworking!), my 18V Makita easily drives it in low gear.
Only down side - it may be a "Nail Chipper", but it didn't stand up to a buried drywall screw - the hard screw gouged the cutting edge. But I don't know of any bit that could do better, and this one kept drilling holes fine even after hitting the screw.

I started a wiring job with a self feeding paddle bit and on the 2nd hole I hit a knot in the wood and bam the drill slammed my hand into the floor and I had a bent paddle bit.
BUT when I got the WoodOwl bit out, Woo Hoo, smooth drilling thru 60ft for floor joists. It is a well balanced drilling, the bit did 90% of the work with no bouncing or vibrating. Thanks

These bits are amazing. In both a traditional brace and my handheld drill in slow speed it went through hard maple like butter and very cleanly.

I totally bought the line of BS that said this drill bit will drill through screws! I totally disagree with the other reviews that say this bit can go through anything except wood. I tried to drill through a header of which has a screw in the path of the hole I was drilling. After An hour later, this but had done nothing to the screw. So I tried again for a lengthy amount of time, only to have the same result. I ended up having to cut the drywall open and do the job that way, then repair the drywall. So, bottom line, if the bit actually went through screws it would have saved me about 2 days work.
