It can be used for phase identification, color coding leads and piping systems and for marking safety areas. This tape is abrasion and weather resistant, with excellent mechanical and electrical insulation properties that wraps smoothly and hold tight over a wide range of temperatures. Excellent all-weather performance from 0ºF (-18ºC) to 220ºF (105ºC). UL Listed and CSA Certified, and is flame retardant. 1/2" x 20 ft. rolls. Pack comes with one roll of each color: Blue, brown, gray, green, orange, red, violet, white, and yellow.

I am very wary of products like this because they are easily counterfeited. However I believe these to be genuine because they match the product specifications on the 3M website correctly, they have the correct internal markings on the cardboard spools, the package labeling matched the 3M website photo, and they feel the same has my other 3M tapes. They have good stretch ability and reasonable tensile strength. I have not done any resistance measurements with a megger, but initial simple chicks measure fine. If you're only marking wires you can use a copycat product, but for real electrical and electronic work I need a brand I can trust. The price was fair and I believe I got an honest product. Recommended.
