I bought this to treat an eye infection and some lethargy in a betta fish. It was incredibly hard to measure because it only gives instruction for a larger tank. I basically had to guess at the dose but it did work immediately on the fish who began swimming and eating normally again as well as his fins and coloring got brighter and back to normal. It's something I will keep on hand for sure, but I do wish they made dosing easier.

I honestly do not remember what triggered my guys decline and fin rot. I knew warm clean water and IAL were not going to cut it, when he lost most of his color/fins just melting away and started laying listless on the bottom of his tank. First picture is when he was still swimming about. Levels were all good and filtering is a gentle sponge filter. Only soft live plants too. He was an only fish until after all treatments, so no stress or disease had been introduced to him. I had to do 3 complete treatment rounds of Kanaplex using their directions. During the 2nd round of treatments he started perking back up. After the 3rd round of treatments. I fed him a probiotic pellet food every few days to help his tummy and continue with this once a week. Last picture is 2 months post him starting treatments. Still has some fin healing to do, but so much better in appearance and mood.Thank you SeachemI'm sure if I had not used this, he would have ended up passing. Well worth having in your supplies even if just in case.

My betta developed a severe case of popeye and nothing was helping. I tried salt baths multiple times a day - no luck, bettafix - no luck, erythromycin for a week - no luck.. eventually the eye started growing fungus and even raising the water salinity did nothing. One night with this stuff and it was a miracle! Swelling went down a ton and the fungus was gone. 100 saved my fish!! See photos for progression!

Somewhere in the miniscule print on this product it should state not to use it in your main aquarium rather only in a hospital tank. I used this to treat a 55 gallon tank. I don't know if it worked or not -- yet. The worst part was after the treatment I put my double filters back on the tank and after 10 days of daily partial water changes, AmmoLock and practically starving my fish I could not get the ammonia in check. I had to do a 100 water change, scrub the filter boxes to remove any trace of this medication, dispose of my tank decorations and start completely over. This stuff is some sort of POTENT -- it kills everything long after the treatment is all I can say. Good luck!

Kanaplex saved my betta from the typically fatal dropsy!One factor that worked in our favor was that as soon as we noticed the pineconing, we started dosing Kanaplex. (We had Kanaplex on hand because our previous betta--- who was also our first fish --- also developed dropsy, but by the time the medication arrived, it was too late.)In addition to the Kanaplex, we gave the betta daily Epsom baths and 50 daily water changes. Don't forget to remove your filter cartridge so that the medication is not removed from the water. After 6 days, our betta's pineconing started to subside, and after 9 days, she looks to be back to normal.

It's been almost 2 weeks since I started treatment with this, and my fish looks so much better. At first I tried keeping his water pristine and checked the water quality daily, but the fins just weren't healing, after using this though it cleared fast

KanaPlex is a solid medication, but overdosing will kill your fish. If you aren't willing to be very precise and do a few calculations between tank gallons and dose, you may want to pass up this (otherwise excellent) medication. I was dosing nano tanks, and thankfully had a gram scale already - it would have been impossible to precisely dose a 1 gallon tank correctly without it.So overall, if its a large tank, or you've got the skill and will to dose properly, this is an excellent medication - just keep in mind, this is a POTENT med.
