Really like this product. I've noticed is that the plant is very difficult to place though. It doesn't want to stay in the rocks once the water is put in and tends to float up, so I just don't use it. The plant does not have a flat surface on the bottom of it to be held down by the gravel. The other thing is that with the two I bought, the tops are a little loose. The sit fine though, I just thought they would be tighter fitting like my double betta keeper, also from Lee, that I purchased several years ago.

I bought this betta keeper kit with two packets of sea-monkeys, and so far everything has been fantastic, the tank holds 24 ounces which is just PERFECT for two packets of sea-monkeys, which would need 20 ounces of water. I started my packets earlier today and already have some babies, I can tell I made a good decision in starting my sea-monkeys out in a tank like this. The sea-monkey brand tanks are so childish with their bright colors and funny shapes, I'm an adult and I want to look like one. (and yes, adults can own sea-monkeys, just like they can own goldfish and betta fish). So I thought long and hard and decided to try it with this kit. I didn't use the gravel or plant, because I didn't want my baby monkeys to get crushed by the gravel and the plant wouldn't stay put by itself. When the monkeys get older I will add something into the tank for them to play in and around, but until then they are bare tank and they seem to like it already!

I have 12 bettas all in these type of bowls and they are very pretty to display. These bowls have always been cheaper than traditional betta bowls if you're on a budget, so needless to say, for a dorm room I have 10 of them. For little space these units are ideal!

Betta's do not need large spaces to live in. They originally come from rice paddies in Cambodia and live in muddy water and basically in little confined spaces. This is how a Betta lives. This hex was made specifically to fit a Betta's way of life. Also it only needs minimal cleaning since bettas are airbreathers, they have labyrinths which act like lungs. Before you write a review make sure you know how the fish lives in its natural habitat. I give this product 5 out of 5.
