So happy with this. I like this bigger size - I don't have to refill so often (and feel guilty when I realize it is empty - how long have the poor things been without water?) than the previous 1 gal auto-waterer I had. BUT it's not little (2.5 gal) so if your space doesn't merit, be aware the size. Also, love everything is now in a configuration where you can actually wash it, inside the jug and everything. I expect it will age much better (no green ring you can't get to). Also like the design with the filter, no chance of food, etc. getting up and into the source water and making it yicky. Side benefit, kitty finds it fascinating when it does it's little bubbler thing....

This was a GREAT purchase. I have three dogs, one of them is 80 lbs, and they drink a lot. This is a gift from the universe, as far as making sure they have clean water. Yes, the water level is a bit low. But so what? It's there. One of my dogs is a rescue who won't put her head down in a bowl if she can't see around her. In the pan I was using there would still be water, but if the level was 3 inches below the top, Rosie was too fearful to drink. Now, she always has water and never has to worry. Instead of filling the water twice a day, I do it every three days, although that is likely to go to 2 days as summer gets here. One of my best decisions ever, and the price is great. (I compared)

Our old Petmate LeBistro waterer finally sprung a leak, so we replaced it with this model. Overall, it's been good for our two medium sized, active and thirsty dogs. I like that we only have to refill it once or twice a week now, as opposed to every other day for our old waterer. However, the black screw top cap is not the easiest to get off, especially because it's wet and slippery. But that's the only reason I'm not giving it 5 stars. Otherwise, solidly built and surprisingly stable (I don't worry about it getting tipped over). I like the fact that the water level is somewhat low in the bowl, because one of my dogs is a sloppy drinker, and having a lower water level equals less mess on my floor.

Only when the water level lowers the basin is with less water. And you have to keep it clean always to have good air escape

I REALLY LIKE THIS WATER DISH. MY PETS MUST BE THIRSTIER THAN MOST. IT SEEMED LIKE THEIR WATERER WAS ALWAYS LOW. I CAN GO FOR A WHILE BETWEEN FILLINGS NOW,

Love this watering system! Before receiving the Petmate Waterer, I was cleaning and refilling water dishes for dogs and cats twice a day. Seems every time I turned around, one was empty. With this new water system, I only have to clean and refill about once a week! With the built-in filter, their water stays clean and ready for when they're thirsty.The only problem for me personally, is that when it's full of water, it's a little heavy for me to handle. My husband doesn't have a problem, but it is heavy.Watering our pets is no longer an ongoing process. So much easier! Love it!
