I've used a lot of different brands of headgear over the years, and while this is typically considered the old school brand...it really is still just the best brand I've found.A few things I really like:1) The snap doesn't come off easily...with other velcro brands, this was a constant issue.2) The strap won't cause 'burn marks' under your chin, like other brands had in the past.3) The ear-guards themselves don't protrude out far, which had been an annoyance for some of my workout partners (particularly in jiu-jitsu)4) They last a very long time. The only minor annoyance I have with these is that they are a bit of a pain to get initially adjusted to fit. Once they are, however, they stay in place extremely well.

I love this head gear except I had one problem, I ordered black and I got green.

My son wore this for his last youth 14U season. We've always been big fans of Cliff Keen. This particular product barely made it a year. By the time he got to state, the ear cups were starting to split apart. Granted, my kid is rough on head gear...his and his opponents, but I really thought this should get him through a couple of seasons.
