I also have another squeezing ball but I never touched it again since I've got this one. What I really like about this one is that after squeezing it needs about one second to go back to its original shape (doesn't mean that you have to wait till you can squeeze again). So you really have the feeling that you did something. (The other one that I have is like a bouncing ball and is round again as soon as you take the pressure away. That is annoying and not calming.)

So I orderd multiple different exercizers from the same manufaturer. I ordered 1 extra soft Eggsercizer (the egg shaped), 1 soft Eggsercizer, and 1 medium Eggsercizer, as well as 1 extra soft Theraband ball, 1 soft Theraband ball, and 1 medium Theraband ball. I have to say that out of all of them I prefer all of the Theraband balls to the Eggsercizers. The Eggsercizers are not as soft. The extra soft Eggsercizer is between the soft and medium Theraband balls in squishyness. I would say that if you want a really squishy ball start out with the extra soft or soft Theraband balls. The medium Theraband is much squishier than the medium Eggsercizer. The soft Eggsercizer seems equivalent to the medium Theraband ball. If you want something smaller go with the standard Theraband balls because they are smaller than the Eggsercizers.I am going to order more of the extra soft Therabands because I like how squishy they are. I bite my fingers and they help distract me from this destructive behavior. I carry one around everywhere and leave them all around my house. They are also just fun to play with :)

This product provides a number of benefits, for example; conveniently accessible in the house and easy to carry with you. Periodic use keeps my hand joints moving while increasing finger strength as well as palm muscle toning. This hand exerciser comes in a range of firmness to fit each person's needs. Applicable to physical individuals such as rock climbers and golfers to desk bound individuals in the very important need to maintain use of our hands. Decide what firmness you believe is appropriate for you and buy the one one level lower. You'll find that the less firm hand exerciser is more practical as you will be able to target the commonly less used ring and little fingers and still increase palm strength. Note: heating in microwave, as suggested, will adversely change material properties.

I got the firmest one. I can do hundreds of pushups in a day, but this thing was a bit too firm for me. It has about as much give as a racquet ball. It also makes my hands a bit sticky, and stinky, because it is made of a sort of tacky gum-rubber. Which is neither good nor bad, it seems like a material that will hold up well. What I've read is with hand exercises if you can't do many reps with it, it can do more harm than good. What you actually want is something that doesn't give too much resistance, so you can do lots of reps with it, because that will limber up your fingers and increase blood flow. I think I probably should have gone the step below the firmest. The egg shaped one is about the size of an actual egg.

Seriously, these Theraband balls are simply incredible! I have used a blue extra-large (pill-shaped) at work for two years now, and during this time I have squeezed it compulsively, mashed it against the desk, microwaved it, refrigerated it and even thrown it at people . . . and it shows no sign of giving up the ghost. It may seem a little expensive, but you are paying for some real quality. This is the ONLY EXERCISE BALL you should buy. You should get the extra large unless you have tiny elf hands.

I had partial wrist fusion surgery and lost a lot of finger and hand strength. This item does a wonderful job of helping me regain that strength. It is, however, sticky, with no way to wash off the stickiness. I keep it in an old sock and it is now perfect.

I use it every 2 days during my work at office and I can feel an improvement of my "tennis elbow" problem.

This is fun to squeeze, and great exercise for the hand. I love how it feels - soft & squishy, but with resistance. I'm still having problems with my hands & fingers after a bad fall that resulted in a wrist fracture, and the development of RSD. This helps with strength, dexterity, and even nerve sensitivity.

I ordered the Extra Large Black Hand Exerciser, but initially received the regular size black one instead. The vendor (Medical Department Stores) immediately apologized, sent me the correct item, and even threw in a discout code for my next purchase. Excellent customer service!!!The product itself, however, is very inconsistent. The regular size ball is very firm, and is consistent throughout; but the Extra Large version is not. There is a seam from the mold it was made in. From the seam to one end of the Extra Large looks and feels just like either half of the regular size ball. The longer end of the Extra large is MUCH softer and stickier. I asked the manufacturer if it was supposed to be like this; and they told me that this is a defect -- but the replacement they sent me is exactly the same. Great Customer Service -- Terrible Quality Control. All of them are useable -- just not quite what I was expecting, and not as useful as they would be if manufactured properly. The only other issue I have with them is that they are always either sticky or dirty (or both). I wash them in the sink with mild hand soap (which makes them extremely sticky), and then roll them in corn starch baby powder. I keep them on plastic trays, to keep them from sticking to the table; but using them wears off the powder and makes them stick to my hands again within a day or two.The oblong shape of the Extra Large makes it much more versitle than the regular. It can be squeezed from end to end, making it larger and providing a greater range of motion; or it can be squeezed from side to side, giving a better tight grip exercise, with more surface area available than the regular ball. They work fairly well if you have the patience to maintain them; but would be much better if there were better quality control in the manufacturing process, and perhaps a cloth cover, or some other type of "skin", to keep them from sticking to everything.
