I've used this Trangia for kayak trips on the Missouri River in 2015 and the Mississippi River in 2016. It's taken a heck of a beating and still works great. If you use rubbing alcohol, you will get soot on your pans and your hands too. I pretty much only use the yellow HEET stuff.

If you have never used a Trangia Storm Cooker your in for a treat, I bought my first set up in the early eighties and regret selling it. At the time I was into maximizing my cool gear and bought into the MSR white gas stove idea. After obtaining six or seven stoves over the years I wanted something different and rediscovered the Storm Cooker. This kit is a proven Cooker that just works, I have been cooking all of my meals on the 25 or 27 for three weeks and actually look forward to using the Cooker. The design is as low tech as you can get in a cook system and it works perfectly, compared to fiddly stand alone alcohol stove set ups this thing is a tank. You can actually cook real food on this Cooker while most smaller light weight alcohol stove set ups are just enough to boil water. Don't be fooled by the old school looks this Cooker is a keeper.

I love this set. Boils water very efficiently. I am going to add on a non-stick skillet for the trangia 27

Works very well with 34;yellow heat34; (gas line dryer) as fuel. Does not seem to leak fuel from the burner when some is left over and the cap is installed on the burner. Boiled 16Oz of water to a start of boil in 6 minutes and a full rolling boil in just under 7 minutes [starting with tap water]. The burner ran a full 14 minutes on 5 oz of Heat. All items package very nicely in the unit, including the tea kettle. Did not try the simmer ring, but it does move stiffly, some planning is needed before you put in on because it will be very difficult to adjust as soon as it is put in place. I plan to have a 2 small tools with me so I can adjust it and not get burned. 1st tool prevents the simmer ring from turning and the second to rotate the cover to the correct opening. The construction did not disappoint and I expect this will be passed on to the next generation especially since it has the hard coat finish on the frying and sauce pan.
