Purchased for deaf family member. Works well as long as you are in same room with strobe. Strobe does not flash until AFTER the chime sounds.Screw door bell push button to exterior, plug inside unit in (we used extension cord so we could place it higher in room). That's all it takes to install. EASY.

I cannot hear my latest doorbell so I bought this flasher to plug in in my bedroom! Easy to install except for the button unit which needs a flat ended screw driver to push and turn to open and install the batteries. Works like a charm!!

The flashing light is a second method by which I can tell someone is at the door. The only problem I had was that I attached it to an aluminum door and it wouldn't work. I use it as a doorbell for my garage door. I had to make a wooden separator in order for the bell to be proficient. Works fine. The flashing light helps when I have my tv up fairly loud.
