DO NOT USE WITH A FISHING ROD HOLDER AS IT SAYS IT CAN. It’s not sturdy enough for that. I used it for 2 days with the rocket launcher tube rod holder. It was windy today, a good wave in my kayak and it popped out of the track and went into the drink. I watched it sink the 35 feet down to the bottom on my fishfinder. I got super lucky though, my line was still attached to my downrigger line clip and slowly reeled it up, and my line was still attached and was able to get my rod and reel back. I only lost $25 (the mount and rod holder) instead of $175. It could’ve been a lot worse. DO NOT USE WITH A ROD HOLDER!!!!!!

Purchased 2 of these to use wit the Scotty tracks I installed on my kayak. They each lasted 3 trips before the clips that secure the rod holder or other accesory stretched out and wouldn't lock anymore. Waste of money

Nice product and quality made! I rated it at 4 only because of the 1 flaw it came with, needs more options of screw on the bottom. Even if I had to buy them extra, it would be worth it. I bought this for my 2018 Ascend 12T track rails to mount my Scotty bait cast holders to. Tightened all the down, with little pull down force it will pop right out of the track. So great for other things but not for rod holders (if keeping the reel locked) like when using circle hooks or drift/trolling). To fix this issue and give it more bite in the aluminum track I drilled out a washer to slide onto the track screw in the 438, then shaved the edges down to slide in with it. The washer is just a little bigger, edge to edge (but fits almost flush track side to track side) to give it more surface bite and now I can tighten it down and try to pull it down some with no popping out. My opinion, they should come with multiple screw sets for most common track rails so you can interchange them for best fit (the one that comes standard was a bit skinny for my rail and has a .2534; gap or so and that is why it pops out so easy).
