my 6 grader son usually read adventure/ fantasy books. I wished he reads more of non fiction books, and bought this work book. it has lots of helpful articles and my son learns a lot from it. I am satisfied with purchasing this book.

To preface my review, I am a 5th grade teacher. Compared to other nonfiction trade books, the lexile score of the articles are higher. The worksheets that are paired with the articles require more of the students. Students are often asked to cite evidence from the text and justify their answers. There are hardly any multiple choice questions. Overall, I think this product helps to support the rigor of the Common Core State Standards.
